Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009

The Roden Center for Entrepreneurship is participating in the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, November 16 - 22, 2009.

Global Entrepreneurship Week will connect young people everywhere through local, national, and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.  Students, educators, entrepreneurs, business leaders, employees, non-profit leaders, government officials and many others will participate in a range of activities, from online to face-to-face, and from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings.

Come participate in these activities with us:

  • Wednesday, November 18 at 12 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. we will be hosting Mentoring Madness in the Jan and Ted Roden Center for Entrepreneurship (MB 2225).  Have lunch with us and watch a streaming video of a panel of entrepreneurs including Blake Mycoskie, founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS Shoes; Barry S. Sternlicht, Chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital; and, Stephen P. Hanson, founder and president of B.R. Guest Restaurants.  This year's event will be moderated by Maria Batiromo of CNBC.
     
  • Wednesday, November 18, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. we will be hosting UTPB Shark Pool.  Student entrepreneurs will present his/her business idea to a panel including a banker, attorney, CPA, and local successful entrepreneurs.  The panel members will critique the plan and provide feedback and suggestions for resources.  The panel will select the top three plans and prizes will be awarded!  Come take advantage of this opportunity to receive valuable feedback and build your network.
