Bio:
 
Shuming Bai is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Business at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She received M.B.A. and a Ph.D. in Finance and International Business from The University of Texas – Pan American.
 
Dr. Bai’s teaching and research interests are corporate finance, international asset pricing models, exchange rate risk management, e-finance and market integration. She has published research papers in peer-refereed journals such as International Journal of Electronic Finance (IJEF), International Journal of Sustainable Economy, International Journal of Mobile Communications, International Journal of Services and Standards, Journal of Current Research in Global Business, and Industrial Management & Data System.  
 
Dr. Bai has ten years of teaching experience in teaching various finance courses such as Corporate Finance, Investments, International Finance, and Financial Statement Analysis. She was recognized for her excellence in teaching by Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 2006. Prior to coming to UTPB, Dr. Bai taught at the University of Texas – Pan American and at the University of Texas at Arlington.
 
Dr. Bai serves as Editorial Board Member for IJEF. She is the Chair of the Finance and Economics Track for the 2008 and 2009 Southwest Decision Sciences Institute Conferences in Houston and in Oklahoma City, respectively.
