Barbara Scofield is an accounting faculty member returning to UT Permian Basin after previously serving here 1996 to 2004. Her teaching interests are in financial accounting and its delivery through cases and eLearning. Her best-loved class, taught since 1989, is Intermediate Financial Accounting II because all of the contemporary issues in accounting can be found in its material.
Her research interests are primarily in financial accounting and corporate choice of accounting methods. Recent publications include "What's REALLY important? Survey results from MBA students in the financial accounting course" "Adapting cases for a team approach" and "Underlying Components of Additional Minimum Pension Liability."
Dr. Scofield has previously taught at the University of Dallas, Southeastern Louisiana University, The University of Kentucky, and The University of Florida.
